Session VII: God's Plan for your Wedding Ceremony: A Profession of Faith.
Each session will include:
a presentation of the church's teaching by Father Joseph Hattie, OMI, a presentation by a married couple committed to Christian marriage and family, sharing what they have learned during their married years, an opportunity for the engaged couple to discuss the topics with each other.
One of the goals of this marriage preparation program is to help those preparing for marriage to develop and broaden the content and range of their communication. Another is to inform their conscience about what the Catholic Church teaches regarding marriage and family, why She teaches it, and what children will be taught as members of the Catholic Church. The hope is that, by the time people have finished the course, they will come to love each other a little more and they will have grown in their desire and confidence to walk together into the future. |

2. WEEKEND SESSIONS

This series consists of several presentations
addressing specific aspects of marriage preparation.
Topics covered include:
Vocation of Marriage
The Sacrament of Marriage
The Wedding Ceremony
Communication & Conflicts Resolution
Stewardship and Finances
Parish Life
Marriage Documents
Couples listen to presentations on the various topics and then have an opportunity to discuss the matter privately and also with other couples. This program is designed to offer engaged couples an opportunity to consider what a sacramental marriage is, and what it takes to lay the foundation for such a marriage. It seeks to help couples build upon the things that have led them to decide to marry, so that their marriage may truly reflect Christ's love in the world. |
